Teaching Your Kids to Love Others
Sometimes we complicate parenting. Especially as Christian parents, there are so many things we want to teach our kids. But isn’t it interesting that Jesus said all of the law and the prophets (in other words, all of the Bible), comes down to living out the greatest 2 commandments.
In Matthew 22:37-40, Jesus said:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
So in one sense, those are the main 2 things we need to teach our children! Of course, there are many facets to loving God and loving people — but still, it’s not as complicated as we make it.
Well, over at The Better Mom blog today, I wrote about 1 practical way we can spend more time teaching our kids to love others better. It’s simple, but I hope this idea about some extra intentionality is helpful. You can read it here.
