Realistically, difficulty should be expected when you take your imperfect self and join it in holy matrimony to his. Furthermore, though we are willing to love, the option to withhold usually suits our desires quite well. But in marriage this is no longer an option – we must choose to love.
All the while, showing love is only more difficult because we see each other, day in and day out, inevitably at our worst. Thus, there are surely sacrifices to make, forgiveness to give, and undeserved love to bestow. Marriage can be good and enjoyable, but it is almost always hard. Hence, the topic of marriage.

What an accomplishment it would be if we sought to be godly wives so much so, that our husbands were the first to raise their hands when the Proverb asks the question, “An excellent wife who can find?” That is my hope for me and for you.
Proverbs 31:10–11 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.
